HEALTH
As Brian’s reputation to teach health exercises widened a greater number of people became aware of the benefits. In the late 1980's Senior Consultant Chris Wells at Walton Hospital Pain Relief Unit in Liverpool asked Brian to introduce Tai Chi to the patients. This was the first time Tai Chi was taught in a British Hospital. Brian was then asked to formulate a standard Tai Chi programme for pain sufferers. This programme became a blueprint for several other groups of chronic pain sufferers around Britain, for whom Brian became an advisor. Continuing his Tai Chi/Qi Gong work with the unwell, Brian worked extensively in various venues with sufferers of spina bifida, heart disease, strokes, brain damage, psychological disorders and drug addiction. Thus, establishing and pioneering Chinese health exercises as a form of treatment in Britain.
