HEALTH
Under the banner of Chinese Wushu Research Institute (G.B.), Brian continued pioneering and establishing Chinese health exercises as a form of treatment in Britain. He worked extensively in various venues with sufferers of spina bifida, heart disease, strokes, chronic pain, brain damage, psychological disorders and drug addiction. Brian was one of the first in Britain to promote Tai Chi as an exercise for the elderly, the infirm, and the young. Brian choreographed a programme of exercise specifically designed for people in wheelchairs. In the late 1980's Senior Consultant Chris Wells at Walton Hospital Pain Relief Unit in Liverpool asked Brian to introduce Tai Chi to the patients. This was the first time Tai Chi was taught in a British Hospital. Brian was then asked to formulate a standard Tai Chi programme for pain sufferers. This programme became a blueprint for several other groups of chronic pain sufferers around Britain, for whom Brian became an advisor. Brian was commissioned by a major pharmaceutical company to write the Guide to Gentle Exercise for people in pain
